Resolved Question: Quitting smoking question?
I’ve been smoking for quite a long time (since I was 13, I’m now 21). I have never really been a “heavy” smoker, only a few cigarettes a day type thing, and always the American Spirit ones that don’t have the additives. Plus, it’s the only un-healthy habit I have. I eat 100% organic, I’m a lifelong vegetarian. I walk 2-4 miles a day, do yoga, hike in warmer weather. I don’t drink alcohol or take any drugs, illegal, otc, or prescription. I treat ailments with dietary changes or herbal remedies. I really don’t know why I smoke, besides out of pure habit. Save the speeches, I know it’s terrible for me.

I did a 10 day detoxifying cleanse, since I was feeling really run down, during which, I didn’t smoke at all. The past few days after the cleanse, I’ve found that smoking is becoming almost repulsive, and I can’t get through a cigarette. It’s as if my taste has changed, it just tastes gross, it smells gross, and I don’t much want it. I haven’t been getting cravings either. I kind of figure nows a good time to quit. The only problem is, I smoked on a schedule. A cigarette in the morning, one at lunch, one after I get off work and one before bed if I felt like it. I’ve been kind of “lost” at the times of day when I’d normally smoke, since it is such habit to go outside at those times of day for a cigarette. Other than that, It’s been 15 days and I haven’t had any of the “normal” withdrawal symptoms (I’m not edgy or over-eating, or tired or anything). Just wondering if there is anything I can do to replace the habit of going out during those times, so I don’t get tempted back?

And please, don’t recommend stop-smoking products. They are probably just as, if not more detrimental to your health as smoking itself. I just need some ideas of what to do with the time I would spend smoking.
