i love my grandmother. i mean i absolutely adore her. she is the type of person that exactly matches my personality. i love everything about her, except one thing: yep, shes a smoker. She has been smoking since she was pregnant with my mother (thank goodness she came out alright…) and now at 65, she is still smoking. I love spending time at her house. her AND my grandpa (who is also a smoker… but there is no use in convincing him to stop… hes to stubborn) anyway, they Both spoil me. they love me and i love them. i love spending time at their house. So much so that eventually i developed asthma. My grandma doesnt realize it may be her fault, though. she comes from a family of smokers, her mother and grandmother, dad and grandad, brother and sister. everyone.
i have never asked her when she was going to stop smoking, and i have never expressed how much i hated it. since we always joke around, it would be awkward for me to discuss something so serious with her. i am not the serious type of person. i have been sending her signals, though. like whenever she pulls out a cigarette i go to the other side of the room and talk to her, then i go back and sit next to her when she is finished. I also turn up the TV when there is a stop-smoking ad on, and i have left one or two magazines at her house opened up to stop smoking ads.
She has cut down from 6 cigarettes a day to 3, and i am really proud of her. but how can i convince her to stop for good? i love her and i want her to be around for a really long time.

The new stop smoking ad? I mean I’m a smoker and I get it….most of the time we are quitting for our families. But if it is illegal to sell tobacco products to any one under the age of 18; including smoking cessation product,why are they using a 4yr old (approx) CHILD to promote their product!!!
