Resolved Question: Has anyone taken Chantix?
My doctor wrote me a prescription for the 6-week starter pack on this (new) stop-smoking medication. My insurance won’t cover it.
I am willing to put out the $130 or so for the starter pack.

Will I be able to quit on just the 6 weeks meds or will I really need the other 6 weeks to quit fully? How bad are the side effects?
Thanks Peanut! I think it’s worth it for me. I actually think I have the cost of the medication in spare change! lol

Unfortunately, with it being so new, chantix.com isn’t really up and running with much info yet. My doctor’s information is limited as well.

Good luck with the hypnosis if you try it. My friend got hypnotized & quit for 8 months, then started again, then quit again, but still smokes occasionally now. I don’t think that’s the norm, he’s just an exception.
